Played with a standard 52-card deck by 2 players or 4 players in two partnerships. The dealer lays four cards face up on the table and deals four to each player. Capture a single card of equal rank, capture sets of cards whose values sum to your card, or sweep everything with a Jack. Clearing the table with a non-Jack card is a Basra (+10). At the end of each hand aces and jacks score 1 each, the 2 of clubs scores 2, the 10 of diamonds scores 3, most cards scores 30, and each Basra adds 10. First side to 101 points wins the match.

Normally 43 points (4 aces + 4 jacks + 2 + 3 + 30 for most cards), plus 10 per Basra. A 26–26 tie carries the 30 into the next hand.
